The wedding was an intimate affair, with only immediate family and a few close friends in attendance, but the party later that evening in The Clarion was a big bash. There was still lots of emotion, with Vanessa's friend Michelle leading the tear count. As you can see in the first pic, even the sight of Vanessa in her dress was enough to get her going.
In between, we stopped by the famous Sligo Landmark, Tobernalt Holy Well, and the Western Shore of Lough Gill. It was a typical Autumn day for these parts - beautiful clear sunshine interspersed with lashing showers. Luckily, we avoided most of those.
After dinner, the speeches were kept short and sweet, as Vanessa and Anthony had a surprise in store for their guests. Comedian Dave Young took to the floor and entertained everyone with a high-energy knockabout routine which, as we were in Sligo, included a special Westlife Tribute band made up of Anthony and three handsome young men randomely plucked from the audience. As I was leaving, Busy Fingers were on stage and the night was shaping up to be a cracker.
