Loretta & Rory - Castle Dargan
Loretta and Rory's wedding took place in the newly renovated St Bridgid's Church in Ballisodare, with their reception in Castle Dargan afterwards. Some of you will probably recognise Rory and his groomsmen as part of the 2009 County Championship winning Ballisodare side. Like many grooms, Rory's keener on football than being photographed, but he kept a brave face, and by the end of the day, was almost enjoying it.

Alison & Conor - Markree Castle
As the wintry conditions still prevail here, Alison and Conor are travelling around Central America on a long and adventurous honeymoon. There might not be too many internet cafés in San Pedro Sula or Léon, but maybe somewhere along the way they'll have a chance to sign in. It's a long way from snowy Dromahair and Markree Castle during Christmas week.
Markree was recently named as Wedding Venue of the Year 2009 by realweddings.ie, so congratulations to all involved on their success. As always, there was a great atmosphere in the Castle, and the night was shaping up to be a good one as I was heading home.

Olivia & John
On December 28th it was off to Ballinlough and the Galway Radisson for Olivia & John's wedding. The roads were icy and trecherous and my car fell victim to the weather. I'd like to say a big thank you to Joanne, Olivia's sister and bridesmaid for lending me her car to get me to the church on time. Despite the cold, we got down to the Demense in John's home town of Castlerea for some pictures before heading on to the party in the Radisson.

Grace & Philip - Lough Rynn Castle
My first wedding of the Christmas season was one I was looking forward to, as I'd met Grace before when she was a bridesmaid at another wedding I'd photographed. The first fall of snow had arrived and it was a crisp, cold day. The venue was the lovely Lough Rynn Castle. Grace can remember peeping through the windows of the old castle when it was still a ruin, so it was extra-special when they had their first dance there in the Baronial Hall.

White Christmas
We had snow in Killaraght on the Saturday before Christmas, and it's still here. While it was lovely to see, everyone is tired of it now, with road conditions treacherous, water supplies freezing and birds and animals suffering from the Arctic temperatures.
With five weddings over the festive season, I didn't get much chance to go out and photograph snowscapes, but I did bring the camera along a couple of times walking the dogs.
Lots of wedding shots to follow over the next couple of days. Happy New Year to All!
