Tears are rolling down my cheeks. You know why? Because I've spend the past week looking at trees to replace our beautiful 60' Ash. I was at a nursery (for the sixth straight day in a row), in the rain, looking at $150 12' trees to replace a 60' tree. I started to laugh so hard I cried. How could she have just abandoned us? And how can a 12'tree ever replace a 60' tree? No one saw me laugh or cry because the tree section is HUGE and I was alone. That was a relief.
I just stopped by after visiting ShutterSpy and she too has a few photos of trees, but up close (the bark) and after discussing trees with her came here and what do you have? A tree!
Everyone is telling us to replace the Ash with a Red Maple, but I'm trying to explore all options, so have worked so hard to come up with alternatives. I've Googled tons of trees, visited every nursery within a 30 mile radius and looked at hundreds and hundreds of trees. In an effort to stop this madness, I think I'll just go with the Red Maple. Any suggestions? Losing that tree broke my heart. Isn't it funny how one tree matters?
John, I love, and I mean LOVE the photo of the church with the boat. Can that be sent in my package? I'll stop by later with all my requests. I have to get to the Vet's so I've gotta go. Ohno was neutered today and I just got a call he wants to come home, so I'm off to fetch him.
Your work is so beautiful and I'm thankful for your friendship. Hope all is well on the homefront.
Beautiful photos. Makes me want to visit. My mom just got a new camera (Nikon D60). Any tips for a rookie photographer? She needs help!!! Maybe she can move on to another "subject" besides me! Love, Hobie
