Julie took this one of the family after the fine Christmas dinner Richard cooked yesterday - as usual, my mother isn't looking at the camera. My dad is looking at the records of my grandfather's journey to America in 1915 which I was able to trace in Ellis Island. For anyone who doesn't know me, I'm in the black shirt at the back.

Nonetheless, what a beautiful picture to remember your 2007 holiday times. Hope it was a wonderful as the picture shows.
Hey John!
I'm so sorry I haven't been able to respond to your comment on my blog. I'm a bit overwhelmed with everything, but will try to do so over the next few days. Thanks for writing. I always enjoy hearing from you.
I love this photo! You look almost as I'd imagined. I have good instinct! (And I was so happy to learn you're a veggie too!) I love that your dad is holding what you so lovingly collected in NY. It is a beautiful tribute to him. Life is complex and interesting, isn't it?
I've been on the Ellis Island Foundation mailing list for a few years, so receive updates from them monthly. When I go home I plan to visit and do as you did. A family member has traced the "Ingersoll" side of our family, but I've been unable to get the info from him. The "Howard" side of course, leads all the way back to Howard Castle. Rather odd to learn because I don't think my family lived up to expectations!!! My sister and I laughed very hard about that one day. Oh well,we all do our best.
Talk to you soon. Great photo.
XO Suzanne
