Mary & David

We first met Mary and David at the Sligo Park Hotel Wedding Fair back in January 2011, and hit it off immediately, so I was delighted to be asked to photograph their wedding. A good crowd made the trip from Tipp to Sligo, and there were a fair few from Mayo too. Unfortunately, neither Gizmo or Skittles, the dogs, could make it, but they might come down for some studio shots now that all the excitement has died down a little.

After the ceremony in Carracastle, we took a little diversion to Doorly Park for a stroll on the banks of Lough Gill. Between the greenery, the water, and the dramatic sky, we had great backdrops for photos. Then it was back to the Sligo Park for the party proper to start...

Elaine & Richard

Its not often that a wedding photography session is disrupted by hundreds of kayakers and water sports enthusiasts, but that's what happened when we stopped to take a few shots in the normally quiet village of Clondra. The riverside walk was thronged with tents and boats, pennants were flying and there was a carnival atmosphere.

There was also a carnival atmosphere in The Hodson Bay Hotel where Mohitos were to the fore at the cocktail reception. There was a thunderous downpour before dinner, but nothing was gong to dampen the spirits of this crew. Eamon from Big Apple was on video duty with me, while Longford Legends Busy Fingers got the crowd dancing. A special mention for the cake too - from Cupcakes by Jessie.

Cathriona & Pat

I always think of beautiful unspoilt beaches when I'm on the way to Belmullet, and I wasn't disappointed at Cathriona & Pat's wedding. A sunny day meant we got to spend some time on Cross Beach, with its big sky and vast expanse of sand. Sunglasses and champagne on the strand - what could be better? Back at the Broadhaven Bay Hotel, David welcomed the wedding party with a bang. Leon Costello was alongside me on video, the first time we've worked together, but hopefully not the last.

Rhona & Cathal

The busy August Bank Holiday weekend kicked off with a very local wedding for me, with Rhona & Cathal getting married in Cootehall, and holding their reception in The Landmark Hotel in Carrick. As always, Fr Brian conducted a very nice and fun ceremony. We had planned to go to Lough Key for some photos, but as we approached the Park, thunder cracked and lightning struck, so we decided it might be wiser to retreat to Carrick. As it happens, the rain did clear for a few minutes which alllowed us to briefly get down to the banks of the Shannon, before finishing with a few romantic shots up in the Black Mint Bar.
